HOW TO GET YOUR HOME WINTER READY WITH STYLIST, CRYSTAL BAILEY
We sat down with Interior Designer, Crystal Bailey to discover her ideas for creating an inviting Winter sanctuary to come home to. Take a moment to delve into all things interior design as we uncover her secrets for transitioning through the seasons, the latest design trends to look out for and some inspiring projects she has coming up.
What are your essential pieces for creating a cosy winter sanctuary to come home to?
I’m such a texture girl, that for me, it’s all about the layers of linens, wools, chunky knits, and natural materials to add warmth and character to a home.
What are some Winter interior design trends we should keep our eye on?
There will definitely be rich, earthy colours of chocolates, terra-cottas, beige and brushed brass coming through. Which always make a home feel grounded and calming.
What are some simple ways to make the transition between Summer and Winter?
The easiest way to transform a space is with layers! I love to include throw rugs made from linens, woolen Pom Pom blankets, add an Icelandic sheepskin over an armchair or at the end of the bed to complete the room.
What is your favourite Totem Road piece and why?
For me, it’s all about those Totem Stools! I can style them literally anywhere in the house, from the dining to living to the bedroom. The Jasper bedsides are so beautiful too, as they work in any style of home.
Can you tell us about any exciting projects you have coming up?
I’m currently working on 10 interior design and styling projects and half of them are commercial spaces! I’m so excited to share them with you soon!
I’ve recently completed an office makeover for Marcia fromNotsomumsy.com and the collective retreat makeover for Lisa Messenger. There’s a gym that I’m designing for Base Body Babes, a big house on Tamarama Beach and a beach house in Belongil for Lorna Jane from Lorna Jane Active. I feel very blessed and grateful to have had such incredible opportunities to work my magic in the last 6 months of being a freelance Interior Designer!
