An elegant, yet relaxed family residence situated amid the picturesque bushland of MacMasters Beach, south of the Central Coast, we speak to the project’s interior designer & stylist Camilla Ingall of Unfolded to find out more about the inspiration, design process and stunning end result.
Being a Central Coast local herself, Camilla describes MacMasters Beach as a “serene coastal gem” adding that the home’s prime position embodies a “coastal-meets-nature vibe”.
As well as leaning into the natural surroundings, Camilla explains the clients were the driving force behind the design of the project with their united goal to create a space that not only radiated comfort and luxury but also maintained a seamless aesthetic throughout.
“From the very start, their vision was crystal clear: they wanted a forever home that exudes warmth, elegance, and most importantly, catered to the needs of their family of five,” Camilla says.
“At Unfolded, we had the pleasure of bringing their dreams to life, weaving together design elements and styling that harmonized with the home's earthy interior and exterior.”
To achieve this, Camilla guided the clients with suggestions that worked both practically and aesthetically for the space when it came to the internal finishes, window finishes, furniture selections, rugs, and lighting.
“We focussed heavily on natural, earthy, and textured elements, prioritizing low maintenance above all else,” Camilla explains.
This led Camilla to selecting a handful of Totem Road furniture pieces for the styling of the finished look, as she loves the neutral, natural, and simplistic designs.
“I was confident they would perfectly complement the space, suiting the overall warmth of the interior – the timber pieces we selected were an ideal fit.”
“One standout feature for us was the entryway, where the floor-standing mirror beautifully reflects the natural essence of the surrounding bushland.”
When reflecting on the finished project, she mentions she was really impressed by the main hallway.
“Suburban Projects, the building designer, skilfully crafted an ambiance with wall lights that seamlessly transitioned from the living area to the back door, while the vertical blackbutt wood added a luxurious touch.”
